Meet Sarah

I'm Sarah — a Master of Osteopathy, mum of two and pregnancy and postpartum osteopath in Milford.

I've spent more than 10 years working clinically, including over 8 years specialising in pregnancy and postpartum care.

I know pregnancy can be exciting, but it can also be physically uncomfortable. As a mum myself, I understand how frustrating it can be when pain starts getting in the way of sleep, exercise, work, looking after your other children or simply enjoying your day.

I'll listen to what's bothering you, assess what's contributing to it and tailor your treatment to you, your symptoms and your stage of pregnancy.

Is pregnancy making everyday things harder?

Maybe you're...

  • Struggling to turn over in bed because your hips or pelvis hurt

  • Finding walking uncomfortable because of pelvic pain

  • Getting sharp pain when putting your pants on or getting dressed

  • Unable to sit comfortably because of rib or back pain

  • Waking several times because you can't get comfortable

  • Finding exercise increasingly difficult

  • Experiencing pain getting in and out of the car

  • Getting headaches or neck pain

  • Feeling like your body just doesn't move the way it used to

Whatever your pregnancy pain looks like, you're welcome to come and talk to me about it. You don't need to know exactly what's causing it before you book — that's what I'm here to help with.

Sleep better, move more comfortably, exercise without pain, get through work day comfortably, care for your other children and enjoy pregnancy

What happens when you see me?

Not sure if osteopathy is right for you?

That's completely okay. Your first appointment is an opportunity to talk through what's happening, assess what's going on and work out whether osteopathic care is appropriate for you.

1. We talk

I'll take the time to understand what you're experiencing, when it started, what's making it worse and — importantly — how it's affecting your everyday life.

2. We work out what's contributing to it

I'll assess how your body is moving and look at the muscles, joints and areas that may be contributing to your symptoms.

3. We treat you

Treatment is gentle, hands-on and tailored to you, your symptoms and your stage of pregnancy.

4. You leave with a plan

I'll give you practical advice you can actually use — whether that's exercises, stretches, sleeping positions, pillow positioning, work advice or ways to move more comfortably.

The goal?

Less pain. Better movement. More confidence in your changing body.

Let's help you feel more comfortable and confident in your changing body, so you can get on with enjoying pregnancy and preparing for motherhood.

Is osteopathic treatment safe during pregnancy?

Pregnancy is not a one-size-fits-all experience, so neither is treatment.

I tailor every appointment to your symptoms, your stage of pregnancy and your individual needs. Treatment is gentle, and I'll always work within what feels comfortable for you.

I also work alongside your midwife or obstetrician when appropriate.

You don't need to know whether osteopathy is right for you before you book — that's something we can talk through together.

Google review of pregnancy Osteopath Sarah Boughtwood

“I was referred to Sarah by my midwife after experiencing a lot of body pain, especially pelvic girdle pain. She was amazing! Super gentle, really listened, and knew exactly how to help. Each session made a noticeable difference — I felt so much more comfortable and could actually move around. I’d highly recommend her to any mums-to-be who need some relief and extra care during pregnancy.”

“Highly recommend! Especially if you're pregnant!
I visited Sarah when I was 17 weeks pregnant and suffering from very bad hip pain. After only one session, I felt a major difference through my hips, allowing me to walk more freely and keep up with my two kids!
Thanks again Sarah!”

You don't have to wait until the pain is unbearable.

You don't need to be struggling to walk.

You don't need to be waking every night.

You don't need to be missing work or exercise.

And you don't need to accept that something is “just part of pregnancy.”

If something doesn't feel right, it's worth getting it assessed.

The earlier we understand what's contributing to your discomfort, the sooner we can work on getting you moving and feeling better.

And yes — your baby can come too.

No need to organise childcare.

If you're coming in for your appointment with your baby or toddler, they're welcome.

Your appointment is about looking after you too.
